Welcome to Gearhead Wiki. Before you use this site in any way, you must agree to the terms below. These terms may be changed over time and without notice to you. Important changes will be announced on the main page. You agree to be bound by any changes to this page (which is a protected page and not publicly editable).

Description of service

Gearhead Wiki hosts pages created by users. Gearhead Wiki currently provides free page hosting for online communities and individuals to edit. Gearhead Wiki's content is made freely accessible for informational or entertainment purposes to anyone with a connection to the internet.

Gearhead Wiki content

Gearhead Wiki is a hosting provider, and takes no responsibility for the content uploaded by third parties. Gearhead Wiki will act to remove copyright violations in a timely manner following the receipt of an official takedown request.

Gearhead Wiki's pages are provided "as is". Gearhead Wiki has no responsibility for lack of availability of any page or of any particular content. You should be aware that wikis are editable by the public, and, as such, may contain inappropriate or inaccurate content at any time.

Any use you make of content hosted by Gearhead Wiki must be in line with the terms of that page's license. Most of Gearhead Wiki is available under the Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-SA 3.0).

Any content you upload or post to any Gearhead Wiki page must be compatible with a compatible license and not violate another person's intellectual property or infringe on any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary rights. No content shall be added which violates any applicable law.

However, please be aware that pages may still contain content that you may find offensive. (For example: An automatic car is better than a manual. Or that Ford stands for Found On Road Dead)

Any content on a Gearhead Wiki page is the responsibility of the person who uploaded it or added it to a page. Gearhead Wiki does not actively control the user generated content and does not approve the content before it is published. Although Gearhead Wiki is not obliged to do so, Gearhead Wiki, or people it has appointed, have the right to remove any content for any reason, including but not limited to a violation of these terms of use.

Use of the Gearhead Wiki site

Use of any site hosted by Gearhead Wiki is at your own risk.

Users of this service shall not act in a way on Gearhead Wiki which would be harmful to minors. Users of this service shall not impersonate any other person or entity.

Users shall not harass other users or collect or publish personal information about them.

Gearhead Wiki may terminate your use of the site, and administrators within Gearhead Wiki may terminate your ability to use the site, for any reason and at any time.

Commercial activities which have not been authorized by Gearhead Wiki are not permitted on the site.

Access to pages hosted by Gearhead Wiki

Gearhead Wiki reserves the right to refuse access to the site, or to refuse the creation of a page, to any user, for any reason.

Gearhead Wiki, or any individual page, may be discontinued at any time and without any liability to any user.

Any page may be closed, either to editing or viewing at any time and without notice.

Collection of personal information

The only information that you need give is an email address, username, and password. The username does not need to be your real name. Therefore, any personal information, beyond an email address, you choose to give is not compulsory.

If you choose to enter a real name in your preferences, this will be publicly available. However, this field is optional and there is no requirement for any user to give a real name.

Information from our server logs may be stored and used to gather aggregate data about users, and used to determine whether the identity of one or more users is the same in cases of abuse. This data includes your IP address, and details about your browser.

Edits by users who are not logged in will show the user's IP address in the page history of the article they edited, and also in other places on the site, including watchlists and recent changes, and in any external feeds made of such pages.

Changes to pages

Gearhead Wiki reserves the right to close, move, merge, or rename, a page for any reason. Gearhead Wiki shall not be held liable for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of any page, or of the service as a whole.


All text on the site is available under the terms of the GFDL. All copyrights remain with their original holder. Images are all either in the public domain or licensed under the GNU. Trademarked images and text are not included in the GFDL, public domain, or other GNU license, and should not be assumed as such.

  • Note: As in life, you are responsible for your actions. If you choose to violate the intellectual property of someone else, you are fully responsible for any legal implications that may ensue.

Legal action

You agree to indemnify Gearhead Wiki, its owners, employees, and users from any liability relating to your use of this site, or its content.

Gearhead Wiki expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind and shall not be liable for any damages or losses whether directly or indirectly related to your use of this site or its content.


If any term, condition or clause of these terms of use is found to be invalid, then the remaining terms, conditions and clauses shall remain valid.
